DOG OWNERS are invited to enter their pets into this year’s Annual Companion Dog show when it returns to the Green Flag award-winning local nature reserve, Colliers Wood. The Annual Companion Dog Show to raise funds for Dogs for the Disabled is taking place on Sunday 3 August from 11.00am.

 Friends of Colliers Wood will be joined by Deputy Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Susan Bagshaw at the annual event where she will be assisting the judges Mr and Mrs Alton to select winners in several of the classes and to meet some of the enthusiastic participants.

 There are four breed classes plus eighteen novelty classes. The event will be held on Sunday, 3 August at Colliers Wood, Moorgreen and registration will start at 11.00am. Judging will take place at midday and participants and spectators can enjoy an afternoon out which will include refreshments and ice cream.

 As well as the dog show visitors can watch the obedience demonstration which is aimed at encouraging owners who struggle with the training their dogs and for those who are progressing with this task. Testing for the four levels of the Responsible Ownership Certificate will be available.
